# How to Test a Proxy on Android

Ensure your internet traffic is routed through your proxy correctly. Here's a simple guide to testing proxies on Android

**Why Test Your Proxy?**

* **Verify if the proxy is working**: Make sure your connection goes through the proxy server.    
* **Check your IP address**: See if your public IP has changed to the proxy server’s IP.    
* **Troubleshoot issues**: Solve any connection problems related to the proxy.

**Through Wi-Fi Settings**

1. Go to **Settings > Wi-Fi**.
    
2. Long-press on your connected network, then tap **Modify Network**.

3. Scroll down to **Proxy Settings** and select **Manual**.

4. Enter the proxy IP and port.
    
    **Note**: Be sure to enter the IP address of the proxy server, not a URL.
    
5. Open a browser and visit [https://whatismyip.com](https://whatismyip.com/) to check if your IP has changed.


**Troubleshooting Common Proxy Issues**

* **Incorrect proxy details**: Double-check the IP, port, username, and password.    
* **Proxy not responding**: Try a different site to confirm if the issue is with the proxy or the site.
